First you will have to read this journal article:

Defining Psychotherapy; The last 25 years have taught us that it's neither art nor science, Jay Efran, Michael Lukens, Mitchell Greene. Psychotherapy Networker. Washington: Mar/Apr 2007.Vol.31, Iss. 2; pg. N/A

To read this article, you must:

1. Click on this link: Psychotherapy Networker.
2. Enter in your last name and full student ID number. (Be certain you are entering your correct ID number. If you cannot gain access, contact the NSCC library.)
3. Then click on the link that says: Mar/Apr 2007; Vol 31, Iss. 2
4. Then simply select the correct title. I believe it's the 7th one.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once there, you will have to search for this article. You can search by a number of means, but you may find it easiest to simply search by this: Defining Psychotherapy. I tried it and it was the only article to appear, but make sure you have the correct article. Another way would be to simply search by the author, Jay Efran. That creates more hits, but I believe this article was in the top two.

It's a good read but give yourself at least an hour to read and absorb it. I'm happy to say that given what we have covered this quarter, you should at least recognize, if not comprehend, most of the author's references to treatments, concepts, and philosophy.

So, answer the following questions:

#1: What is (are) the main point(s), or theme(s), of the article? (And don't just parrot the title. Use your own words, as if you were explaining it to your grandmother.) (worth 14 points)

#2: Identify and describe 3 things that you learned either learned about psychotherapy or did not understand in the article. (worth 6 points)

#3: The assignment should be no more than 1 page long, double spaced.

Please email me these answers via email with the subject line called psychotherapy; no attachments please.
