MARINE CRITTER PRESENTATION: Everyone is required to prepare a one-page write-up and presentation for the final meeting day (Wednesday, May 13 at 6:00 pm, Rm 1627) that illustrates a species seen or observed on our field trip. Your grade will be based on clarity, design and information on the subject. Students must be prepared to answer questions about their species after their presentation. Each write-up and presentation should have the following three aspects described. You do not need to answer all the questions below. I just put these in here to give you an idea as to what information is valid.

1. Classification: How is your species classified? What Phylum does the species belong? What are their defining characteristics used by taxonomists to identify this species? How can a student in this class correctly identify this species in the field?

2. Natural History: Where does your species live? What does it eat? How would you describe its life cycle? How long does it live? What is its range of distribution? What amazing and interesting facts are there about this species?

3. Ecology: What is the ecological importance of this species? Do they provide sustenance to other organisms? Are other organisms dependent upon this species? Are they important in regulating the populations of others? Why is it endangered? What is being done to preserve this species?
