Business and Careers
- Apprenticeship - Washington State Dept. of Labor information how to become an apprentice; includes links to other resources
- Career One Stop, Occupation Profile - search by job title and by state for information about wages and for a description of what you need to do the job
- Career Voyages - includes videos about different occupations (here are some on health care work)
- Doing Business in Washington State - from Access Washington, Washington State Government website
- Occuption Explorer - Washington State Employment Security Department
- Occupational Outlook Handbook - information on career choices, for example elementary education and pharmacy technicians
Citizenship
- Study Materials for the Naturalization Test - from the USCIS

Education
- Check Out A College - helps you find and apply to a community or technical college in Washington State
- Education Portal - a commercial website with links and videos; see for example this page on Entrepreneur Certificate and Certification Programs
- Money for College - web page from the US Dept. of Education
- Nursing Programs - from the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. Includes Approved Schools of Nursing in Washington.

Online
You can find good online articles in a library database. A database contains different types of information, including articles from websites, books, magazines, or encyclopedias.
When you use these databases from off campus, you will need to log in with your last name and student ID number.

- ProQuest Direct - contains articles from magazines, newspapers, and trade journals
- Testing & Education Reference Center - online information to help you prepare for educational and vocational tests
- WOIS Career Information - information about career training in Washington State - includes real world interviews
Books
Reference books cannot be checked out. You can use them to begin your research. Examples:

Circulating books are books that can be checked out. These books will often give you more in-depth information on your area of research.
To find a book you first need to learn the location and call number. Start with an Advanced Search:
Remember to check availability and the call number of the books you find:
If the book isn't at North, you can request books from the libraries at South or Central Community College. This book is at South, but you can click on "Request Item" to have it sent to North. If you need help, ask a librarian.
