Annecy, France
"Market Day in Annecy, France", ©1995 watercolor, 5.75" x 8.50" inches
Annecy is situated on northern end of Lake Annecy in the French Alps. The old town of Annecy dates from the Middle Ages is laced with canals which are lined with flowers. Swans swim the waters looking for handouts. It is a tourist town during the summer, primarily for the French natives who come here to swim, sun and have fun.
Market day in Annecy takes over most of the old town. Vendors including local farmers come here to sell their produce. This is the place to find unusual cheeses, locally produced sausages and prepared meats as well as vegetables, clothes and shoes.
