The Dingle Peninsula, Ireland

"Dunmore Head and Blasket Islands from The Dingle Peninsula",
©2006 Elroy Christenson
Dunmore Head on Dingle Peninsula is the western most point of Europe.
The Dingle Peninsula is one of the smaller peninisula on the west side
of Ireland. It is a bit more remote since the roads are narrow
and accomodations limited there are fewer tourists there. The
town of Dingle is noted for it's authentic Irish music while the
Blasket Islands in the distance are the home of the roots of
Irish language. Near this spot is a major education center
called the Blasket Center to Irish language which was banned during the
dominance of British control.
