This picturesque valley is a realitively difficult place to get to. The
city of Bukittinggi is has a terrific market and some interesting swept wing
type roofs on the houses. The Japanese had control of this area during World
War II and used enslaved labor to create a series of tunnels into the cliffs
of the region.
