"Hozoman Gate, Senso-ji Temple, Asakusa, Tokyo", ©1994 photo Elroy Christenson
This extremely large wooden pillared temple in Tokyo is very popular with the local people as well as the tourists. Here on the grounds are actually several different worship sites. The entrance ahead has three enormous lanterns hanging in each of the gateways, to the left and right are two gigantic rice woven replicas of a peasants' sandals.
