Beau Vallon beach on the island of Mahé seemed like an idealic
place. The resorts here loved the fact that we unexpectedly stopped here
instead of going to Kenya. We snorkeled here among schools of fish just
off the coral beach in eight feet of water. It was 85 degrees in the water
and 85 degrees on land. Unfortunately on this same beach one of the students
dove into shallow water breaking his neck and paralyzing himself. He was
evacuated to the states.
