The NSCC Art Group is a student organization whose purpose is the promoting of art awareness on the NSCC campus for the students, faculty, staff and the wider community. It is a volunteer student organization that helps with the selection of exhibits, installatiion of shows and the social organizers of the art students on campus. It is the supporting student organization for the NSCC Art Dept and the NSCC Art Gallery,. It is funded by the Associated Student Body with most of the funds going toward the operation of the gallery. A small portion of the funds go to other activities for the group members.

The NSCC Art Group typically engages in gallery walks each First Thursday of the month in the Piioneer Square area. We also will offer workshops in group designated techniques that has included raku ceramics, soap stone carving, Japanese lantern making, and ceramics glazing workshops. At least one longer trip is scheduled each year such as past trips to Portland Art Museum exhibits or Vancouver, B. C. galleries. Occasionally we will get involved in a mural project for the campus.

The NSCC Art Group meets each 1st Thursday of the month in AS 1532 at 4:00pm.
