Welcome to my
Faculty Website!
I am an ESL Instructor at North Seattle Community College. I have
been teaching ESL, ABE and computers in the Seattle Community College
District since 2001. Currently, I am working with immigrants and
refugees, but I have also worked with international students for in
Barcelona, Spain, at the ELS Center at Seattle University and at the
University of Washington. I received an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages) from Seattle Pacific University.
I became a teacher because I like to help others. As an ESL teacher,
I also enjoy getting to know my students and learning about different
cultures. I like helping students adjust to a new society and plan for
their future here in America. I believe it is my responsibility to
advocate for the educational interests of my students.
My professional interests include college transition, advanced
reading/writing, online/blended learning, and faculty professional
development. I am an active member of the following organizations;
WAESOL, TESOL and COABE. I sit on the WAESOL board and I am a Washington
State Learning Standards Cadre member for Writing and Listening/Speaking.
