About Camp Leha

camp Founders

Camp Leha was founded 20 years ago by the Villanueva family because they believed everyone deserves the chance to play outside. As their own kids started to grow up the Villanuevas began to notice that they were turning away from physical activities and more towards sedentary and solitary forms of entertainment, such as television and video games.

When the opportunity came up to buy a plot of land near La Pine Oregon they thought this would be the perfect of chance to provide a camp that would encourage kids to get out of the house and playing with each other. Camp Leha has operated with this philosophy for more than 20 years. We have done our best to create a great escape for today's Middle School student, and are sure that if you look around you will find that too.

Camp Leha is located at the foot of Maiden Peak, which makes us the perfect place to offer every outdoor activity imaginable. We have Waldo Lake that our campers can swim in, nature hikes, our three acre field where we offer field games, and a forest where campers can play epic games of hide and go seek. At the end of the day every camper is happy and exhausted. Our average summer temperature ranges from 42 to 80 degrees. Remember this when selecting what to pack.

How Camp Is Run

At camp we offer both structured activities as well as free time to unwind. A typical day will include breakfast from 8:00 to 8:30. Group activities from 9:00 to 12:00 lunch with the rest of the camp until 1:00. A second group activity 1:00 to 5:00 and dinner 5:00 to 6:00. After this campers are on their own to hang out with friends, rock climb, see a movie, or any of the other pastimes we offer in the evening.
