Camp Leha Activities

Campers on Ropes Course

Ropes Course

Camp Leha is able to offer campers the use of our ropes course. Ropes courses are structures and obstacles that campers work together to overcome. For example we have a raised platform that campers attempt to climb on using only each other as a ladder or pulley. Or, they can encourage each other to overcome their fears as they walk across a balance beam 60 feet in the air. As always trained instructors and safely harnesses will be present.

Rock Climbing Wall

Our participants are invited to challenge themselves on Camp Leha's climbing wall. Open on weekdays from 6 to 9 PM our campers can stop by to gain a new footing on agility and strength. This rock wall is perfect for beginners. Always manned by our staff we provide a safe environment to try out this sport. No need to buy special equipment it is all provided for you. On the weekends we offer climbing classes so campers can get hands on instructions and safety lessons.

Nature Hikes

Camp Leha is very fortunate to be located near Maiden Peak which allows us to offer both nature and overnight hikes. Our nature hikes will take campers along well marked trails around the base of Maiden Peak for lessons in local flora and fauna, and also a chance to challenge themselves on a steep hill climb. Our overnight hikes take campers deep into the mountain and a chance to learn about the forest after dark and is often voted a camp favorites. Tents, ghost stories, and s'mores are provided.

Field Games

Every Friday afternoon we take full advantage of our three acre open field and surrounding forest by inviting every camper to join in the Camp Leha field games. We organize classic school yard favorites; red rover, capture the flag, hide and seek, as well as relay games. Each campers group is pitted against another in the spirit of friendly completion.

Good Bye Bon Fire

As your session at Camp Leha comes to an end we have found that perfect way to say farewell to councilors and friends is with a good bye bon fire. On the last Friday night we gather the entire camp down by the lake for an old fashion bonfire. Campers get to roast marshmallows and share their favorite camp memories. Some even take the opportunity to go swimming. More ghost stories and good times abound and we have found this to be the perfect way to end your camp session.
