Welcome to my Faculty Website!

I am an IEP - Intensive English Program - Instructor at North Seattle Community College.
I have been teaching ESL in Seattle for three years, but I have also worked in Japan for 13 years, tutoring English to students of all ages and classes in International Communication, Oral English, Business and Medical English, Presenting, and TOEFL Prep at Wakayama University and Wakayama Medical University.
I received an MAT in TESOL from the University of Washington in 2011.

Language enables individuals to bridge gaps in understanding, to reach new insights, and to expand their connections with the world. Teaching speakers of other languages allows me to help others in a meaningful way while we all discover cross-cultural differences and commonalities, and improve our interpersonal skills and multi-modal communicative effectiveness. My professional interests include research into pedagogy of pronunciation and speaking, connecting reading and writing skills, testing and positive washback, and faculty professional development.
