I am the Dean of the Math, Science and Social Sciences Division
 at North Seattle Community College in Seattle, Washington USA.

I teach online BIOL 125.

I am the Co-Chair (along with Christian Rusby) of the NSCC Sustainability Committee.

I am on the Steerers' Board for the Curriculum for the Bioregion Initiative (based at the Washington Center Evergreen College)

I received my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Biology from DePauw University in 1990, and my Master's of Science Degree in Zoology from Miami University in 1992.

My research at Miami University was in the area of animal physiological ecology as I studied the natural freeze tolerance of vertebrates (specifically, the wood frog, Rana sylvatica).
