Tannia
Benefield is a Parent Education Instructor with North
Seattle Community College that helps parents to be the best
possible parents they can be! Prior to being a Parent
Education Instructor, Tannia spent 6 years working as a
parent and child mental health counselor and a child
protection social worker. She taught parents the proper
skills to keep their children safe and healthy. She enjoyed
having in home visits, outings in the community and
telephone calls with parents when they needed parenting
support. She also has a master's in Counseling & Human
Services.
Tannia specializes in Attachment Parenting, parenting with
step-families, grandparents that care for their
grandchildren, and single parent families.
Tannia teaches different parenting techniques and using
those skills first hand. A single parent for 8 yrs, she now
enjoys a full house which includes her husband, son (11 yrs
old), daughter (20 mons) and her retired father.
She is available for the parents/guardians of the children
Pike Market Childcare & Preschool by email, phone or in
person. She will be doing monthly parenting round table
discussions and weekly 'Meet & Greets' with parenting
