I am a native Chicagoan who as lived in Seattle since 1981.  I have had a passion for paleontology since about the time that prehistoric photo was taken!  My undergraduate degree is in geophysical sciences from the University of Chicago.  My Masters in paleontology is from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  And my doctorate in geological sciences is from the University of Washington.

Perhaps my best credential for teaching about dinosaurs is that I still have my plastic dinosaurs from my early days when we all thought that they were heavy beasts dragging their tails on the ground!  As you will see, times (and understandings) have changed.

I am also the director of "North's e-Learning Support Center" which includes Distance Learning support.  So I collaborate with other faculty to develop their own online courses, and I am a member of the team of folks in the office who are available to help students with any problems related to their online learning experiences.

In between everything else, I try to find ways to enjoy the treasures left behind from past eons.  A few years back, my son and I collected 350 pounds of fossils from southern Indiana.  Some are on "display" in my campus office as well as my backyard.  Come by sometime if you can!
